This tree, and similar trees nearby, is old. They were planted in the Victorian era, I think. People at that time liked new plants, especially big trees. Lobb brothers from Cornwall went to many countries to collect seeds and samples. The new little trees were popular in Cornwall but now they are big and old. Some of them are dangerous; they fall down or lose branches. Sometimes they will be cut before falling. This tree shows scars. If that tree is a giantess, this little plant is a dwarf or a ghost. Blown off of a tree, it landed on my lawn. Half fungus and half alga, this lichen only grows in places with pure air.
