Winter is the right time for tidying hedges and verges, after the leaves have fallen. There is a strong wind today and there is a mass of broken branches on the road. There is holly on the footpath. Did the wind cause the mess? The sea is rough. No. The bracken and brushwood were cut by a machine. There's a retired farmer with a blue tractor. He is cutting everybody's hedgerows. The road needs tidying. Perhaps I can use the holly for Christmas wreaths. The machine didn't reach the glorious yellow gorse.
