The year 1907 saw the opening of a new grammar school for boys in Redruth. One hundred years after that there were no longer any boys there. Cornwall Arts Centre Trust took it over, and it became a hub for artists and makers and all kinds of creative people. It was renovated and extended. The library was used as a café (The Melting Pot), Millions of pounds were spent to build lovely new studios. But the past year was not very good for the sixty artists, etc. in the "Krowji". Galleries and shops for unnecessary items were closed because of Covid-19. They are hoping for lots of sales before Christmas. But three days ago, disaster struck; there was a massive fire. The "Krowji" is a disaster area. Studios, equipment and work were destroyed. The people are upset.
