Today was completely different – and more tiring. I went to a play place in Portreath, called Base Camp, with my daughter and several other people, including twelve adventurous children. (I thought it was twelve, but I lost count.) It was a party for the birthday of my granddaughter. She is eight years old now. The children ran all around, and they climbed as well. There are six tall climbing walls there – for six children at the same time, with an instructor and safety harnesses. They had to listen carefully to instruction. After playing there was food and a cake with eight candles. The room was disguised as a tent (a base-camp).
