We haven't had any frost yet in autumn and there has not been a day without rain this October (it seems). There is still a lot of green in trees but the hedges are beginning to turn dark brown. Here and there there is some yellow and red. Some trees have lost their leaves already, without turning a beautiful colour. Perhaps they have a disease sick. Will they have leaves again in the year to come? Near a leafless horse chestnut there are some red flowers. Their name is “soldiers”. In a past time soldiers wore red coats. Another name is spider flowers, though it doesn't look like a spider to me. But what are those white things in the field with sheep. Are they fungi? There's a big mushroom in my garden (eaten by some animal).
