There was a “teachers' day” today, organised by the Cornish Language Board in County Hall. First I had to go to the bus stop and then go by bus to the city. A squirrel barked at me from a tree. The moon was in the sky, but it's not a full moon now. The full moon was six nights ago. There were black clouds by the sea, full of rain. The bus came and at the same time I saw a rainbow above the sea. In Truro, finally, there are trees with yellow leaves – a sure sign of autumn. There are workmen on a County Hall roof. They need to work today because there is no wind. They must erect a barrier to protect other workmen. (There are solar panels on the roof.) There are three rooms in County Hall named after important Cornish people (men) – Trevithick, Trelawny and Grenville. There were twenty teachers in Grenville.

Deg ger rag hedhyw: Ten words for today

closweyth barrier, fencing, enclosure, etc.
derevel to erect, build, construct, etc.
hartha to bark (can also be harha with silent th)
kettermyn same time (keth termyn)
Lys Kernow Cornwall Hall (there are arguments as to “County” designation)
ornys organised > orna to organise (rowlya is an alternative)
panel howlek solar panel (obviously a modern neologism)
stevel (f) room (usually with a function)(feminine so use teyr not trei)
tüs vrâimportant/great people/men (big in status rather than size!)
wotiwedh at last, finally (a longer version is war an diwedh)
