Anna Gelderd, Member of Parliament for South East Cornwall, only had ten minutes to present her Bill to Parliament. She was supported by the five other Members of Parliament for Cornwall. Her demand? The Cornish language should have equal status to the five other Celtic languages in this country. The six MPs would like to see Cornish lessons for all children in every primary school. They want to preserve our language and cultural identity. Cornish is not just words. It is a link to our history, our stories, our identity and our future. There will be a second reading on Friday, 20th June.
