Am I mistaken? Last night was Twelfth Night but today is the Feast of Epiphany, isn't it? Are Twelfth Night and Epiphany the same thing? Some people believe that yesterday was Epiphany and others believe today to be Epiphany. For an extra complication, tomorrow will be Christmas Day in Eastern Orthodox Churches. Eastern and western churches follow different calendars (Julian and Gregorian). In Spain and Mexico they have “Dia de los Reyes” (Day of the Kings). William Rowe 1668-1709 translated the second chapter of Matthew: “There came wise men from the east...” but there is no mention at all of kings. And there is no mention of camels either. “We have seen his star in the east and have come to worship him.” You can read his own words on http://www.moderncornish.net/late-texts/Rowe-William-matthewII.html ) What was the “star”? Some people say it was two planets together (Saturn and Jupiter). Others say perhaps it was a comet.
