In summer remember winter. This is an old saying (proverb). I am trying to do my best. I gathered apples from the little tree and put them on newspaper on a high shelf. But what is the point? They are not my favourite fruit. They are not full of sweet flavour and neither are they juicy. They do not last well. Some of them are already shrivelled, rotten and mouldy. There are more apples on a tree in a patch of land by our garden. It's the remains of an old orchard. The apples are ready to fall. But I already have enough jam. Now “In autumn remember summer.” I have to write a newsletter for my art group – all about our events since the spring.
