So, today
I went to the beach. I hadn't gone there since the beginning of spring. I met
my niece and her partner. They'd driven from Devon. As I walked along the road,
I noticed several changes. The road is burnt where there was a car destroyed by
fire. There are new gates to the rams' field (but there are no rams there -
there are only people). The sheep have gone from the meadow - but there are
lots of thistles instead. The meadow is empty but there is a crowd of people on
the beach.
