Cornwall is full of saints. Some of them are Celtic saints. I have not seen all the churches. There is an old saying (a proverb): People afar own castles. But there are castles in Cornwall as well. I saw two castles yesterday. From Castle Beach in Falmouth you can see Pendennis Castle on Pendennis Point (“fort headland”).It was built by King Henry VIII for defence against France. There is a similar castle across the water, Carrick Roads (rock anchorage), in St Mawes (St Maudet's church site). This little building is not a castle – it is part of the fortifications.
