A beautiful sunrise began a new day. I love my family with all my heart but, sometimes, I am happy to say "farewell". They are gone now, for the time being, to the city of the Vikings. Now I can prepare my Cornish lessons for next week, and I want to write Chapter 13 of my new book. I can enjoy the scent of winter flowers without anxiety. There's a proverb in ancient Greek tragedy. Those whom the gods would destroy, they first make mad (deprive them of sanity). Will I lose my right mind soon? What is next? There is no limit to bad luck, so it seems. Am I pessimistic? Mishaps come in threes, but I have had more than three disasters already. What is the problem today? Our daughter is ill and she can't collect her children. I must entertain them. We played hangman many times, and chess and cards. What do sick children like to eat? Perhaps a few grapes. But that was not a very good idea. Eleven o'clock, the little boy was sick again. That means more bedclothes and clothes for the washing machine tomorrow.

Are there more things that can go wrong? We need a plumber again. We have two showers, and they malfunctioned on the same night. One leaked in a wrong place, and the other stopped running completely. Is there a hole in a small pipe or is a pipe somehow disconnected? Did a fuse blow? Our granddaughter caught a train early in the morning to go to university, but after lunch here she is again.
