I like taking photos, but it's a challenge to capture images of things that fly. Today I saw one swift, but it was gone very quickly. I didn't have enough time to lift the camera. How did I recognise it? It is black, with long wings, and without a white belly. I saw a dragonfly as well, but that was gone too quickly behind the hedge. It is neither a dragon nor an adder nor a horse! But what is this among the honeysuckle? It's a beetle, a cockchafer, buzzing like a large bee. In May it's called a May bug. On Monday it will be a June bug! The wood pigeon by my house was helpful. It settled on the wall for its photo.
