The towns of Camborne and Redruth with Portreath form one area of a World Heritage Site. Heartlands is an attraction in this area. Ten mining areas in Cornwall and West Devon make a UNESCO World Heritage Site on a par with the Taj Mahal and the Great Wall of China. It is the largest World Heritage Site in the United Kingdom, with more than 20,000 hectares. You can see engine houses and miners’ cottages. This mining building is in Heartlands and the “Stippy Stappy” row is in St Agnes. Some are holiday homes now.
