It’s Midsummer. It is the feast of John the Baptist. Sadly, I do not have enough time for any holiday. I traveled home all day – a long walk to a train station, three different trains (one delayed and too full because of a failure of an earlier train), then a bus and another long walk. My daughter came after that with her pets. She’s going on holiday tomorrow. Her daughter, my granddaughter, will look after the cats, but she does not want the dogs (one large and old, and the other small and young). And she particularly hates rats. So, behold me, a landlady in a hotel for animals.
