Otta shap gen eth enep (“octahedron”). Keniver enep ew trielin keslinek. Thew pub tû ha pub elin oll egwal. Dhe’n Grekyans Ancyent thew ev solyd compes perfeth ha thew hebma shap an element “Ayr”. Nag ew an model ma perfeth! Nebes cabm ew. Nag ew an gath ma perfeth naneyl. Nag eus dhedhy bes trei garr. Trigarrek ew hei.
Ma shap solyd gen pajar enep trielin ewedh. Henn ew “tetrahedron” - an shap rag an element “Tan”. Dhe’n Grekyans pub tra veu gwres a’n pajar element - Dor, Ayr, Tan ha Dowr. Ma fowt a üdn shap. Ma dhe “Dowr” ügens enep trielin (icosahedron). Nag ew ev an shap gwir a dhowr saw en sciens a’n eur-ma nei a wel an shap ma en nebes virusys.
Here’s a shape with eight faces (an octahedron). Each face is an equilateral triangle. All sides and all angles are equal. To the Ancient Greeks it was a perfect regular solid and this was the shape of the element “Air”. This model is not perfect! It’s a bit bent. This cat is not perfect either. She only has three legs. She is three-legged.
There is a shape with four triangle sides as well. That is a tetrahedron - the shape for the element “Fire”.
To the Greeks everything was made of the four elements - Earth, Air, Fire and Water. One shape is missing. “Water” has twenty triangular faces (an icosahedron). It is not the true shape of water but in modern science we see that shape in some viruses.
