This year I have not seen many little animals with six legs. I saw one very small ladybird (it’s a beetle) yesterday - the first for me. And I have seen several bumble bees (wild bees or hairy bees) and a butterfly or two, here and there. The rain and cold are very bad for them (and for us too). I have seen no bats yet. They need moths to eat. However, there are plenty of spiders - and they are coming into my house. They make a web on the ceiling and they loiter behind furniture and pipes. What do they eat? There are not enough insects. Perhaps the bigger spiders are eating the smaller spiders.
