Writing a Diary 12 (did not)

When you write a diary or talk about your activities you often want to say what you didn’t do. This is why you need the compound preterite.
We can put our previous sentences and phrases into the negative.
I did not is na wrüga vy.
Rag Pask na wrüga vy debry oyow
I did not eat eggs for Easter.
Rag Pask na wrüga vy eva cor.
I didn’t drink beer for Easter.
Rag Pask na wrüga vy kemeres oyow.

Rag Pask na wrüga vy receva oyow.

Rag Pask na wrüga vy degemeres oyow.

Rag Pask na wrüga vy fanja oyow.
I didn’t receive eggs for Easter.
Òja Pask na wrüga vy perna oyow moy.

After Easter I didn’t buy more eggs.
Na wrüga vy desky tra veth.
I didn’t learn anything.
Na wrüga vy spendya tra veth.

Notice the double negative in these last two examples – they actually say I didn’t learn nothing / I didn’t spend nothing – considered very bad in English!
