The Equinox has gone and the Winter Solstice is coming. The darkness is coming! Winter was not a popular season with the people of Cornwall in the past. Look at the names of the months -  Black Month (November) and Month of Black Weather (December). There are place names that are gloomy too - Dark Farm, Dark Fort, Dark Mine-workings for examples. Fortunately, there were festivals for bringing joy. And they still give pleasure to us.
