But next year the eighth day of May will be on a Monday. In the coming year the festival should be on Saturday 6th May. Is there a problem with that? Yes! The old Duke is now King Charles and his coronation will be on 6th May. Will he change his day? Will the Flora be a different day? Will people need to choose, go to a festival or stay at home and watch television? Helston or London, there will be people dressed up like May Day!
