Where you have been and what
you have done
It
is very useful to be able to say “I went”. This can be followed by a selection
of places. There are then other verbs to describe what you did when you were
there. Fortunately, as long as you have correctly conjugated the verb “to go”,
the additional verb can be used in its infinitive/verbal noun form, e.g.
Me
eth e’n dre ha perna boos.
|
I went into (the) town and bought food.
|
<Me
eth> I
went is the simple past tense (preterite) of <moas>
to go. That establishes the person (1s) and the tense. There is no change
of person or tense, so <perna> is the basic form of the
verb to buy/buying.
