Today is a sad day for me. I am remembering Rosina, my beautiful sister. She died on this day seven years ago. She was born before the second world war, so was going to school in wartime. The children carried gas masks. After school she trained to be a tailoress. She was a wonderful tailoress. She cut and sewed clothes for all the family - including my wedding gown. She was a marvellous baker too - she made my tasty wedding cake. Above all, she was a lovable woman.

Spring has arrived! The old dog never wants to come indoors. He wants to be sitting on the granite chippings. It is difficult to see his grey hair against the grey granite. They are the same colour. Today, the sky is the same colour as well, though a bit faded. Fortunately, there are more colours in the flowers, although the hedges and tree trunks are dark. There are lots of yellow primroses and some red camellias

The dear little boy has gone. I made pancakes for breakfast, his mother came and they went home. Now I am nursemaid for a dog, with a new collar. (It is too big.) Aradia must stay calm. She must not run around. I have to give her three kinds of medicine. She has one medicine to be pain free, a medicine against inflammation, and one more to bring sleep. Never before has she been so quiet.

Today, I can't say, "Fair my world." This day was a catastrophe. Aradia wrecked her protective collar and tore her stitches (from her surgery). She had an open wound. She had to go to the vet to be stitched together again - and for a new protective collar.

Happy Equinox to you all. Spring in truly here. Tomorrow the day will be longer than the night. Should we rejoice? How do you celebrate? Perhaps with a drop of beer! What colour is your beer? There is lager and stout. There is white beer and wheat beer as well. Sometimes the label is in Cornish. But do not learn your Cornish from a bottle of beer! "Korev" for beer is OK, and it's very good beer, too. "Mena Dhû" is very good stout, but the name should be "Mena Dû". ("Mena" "Hill" is masculine, so no mutation.) Do you need bread? You can buy good bread, and other baked things, from a bakery called "Da Bara", but don't learn Cornish from them!

Lebmyn, thew agan spellyans nebes deffrans bes nei ell convedhes y eryow, ha whath thera nei ow usya "Na wra chy" rag "Do (thou) not" ha "Gwra" rag "Do".

William Rowe was a farmer in the 17th century. We have part of the Bible translated by him into Cornish. We see The Ten Commandments. He wrote "Na ra (chee)" for "Do (thou) not" and "Gwra" for "Do". Now, our spelling is somewhat different but we can understand his words, and we still use "Na wra (chy)" for "Do (thou) not" and "Gwra" for "Do".
