Last year there was a celebration for two hundred years of The Redruth and Chasewater Railway. It began as a tramway, with wagons drawn by horses. Then steam locomotives were used instead. The wagons carried ore from the mines to a little harbour, and Welsh coal to the mines for the engines in the engine houses.
