I like flowers. I like all plants. I like gardens. I would like to go to London this week. Why? There is a flower show - the Chelsea Flower Show. Here's the Queen in a golf buggy. (She can't walk too far.) She likes this show. The show marks her platinum jubilee (seventy years). There is a likeness of the Queen in seventy clay pots (made by hand), with lily-of-the-valley (Helston lilies). It's like a postage stamp. I like the wild garden. There's a wall a bit like a Cornish hedge, with a sheep stile.

Thera pelyow ayr dhodhans. Anjei a wras chaynys a baperyow liwys ha 'ga clyja ort an vos. Ma othom a voos dhe gefewy. Anjei a wras biskys (heb sowyn), saw anjei a dhros choclat ha cresigow. Maw bian? Ke dhe ves! Gwell ew gen an maw bian rolya war nans ha crambla en gwedhen. Ev a gar tardha pelyow ayr, ewedh.

Children must play! Two girls together – they like decorating the bedroom for a party. Nobody has a birthday, but two cousins in their grandmother's house for two nights, why not! They had balloons. They made chains of coloured papers and stuck them to the wall. A party needs food. They made biscuits (without success), but they brought chocolate and crisps. Small boy? Go away! The small boy prefers rolling down hill and climbing in a tree. He loves bursting balloons, too.

The year progresses. Yesterday was the end of one sign of the Zodiac, Taurus (the bull), and today the next sign of the Zodiac, Gemini (the twins) begins. I am not superstitious, but I like drawing these two signs. Unfortunately, I can't find my drawings! I must do more. I would like to make a calendar for the coming year - in Celtic style.

Yesterday I saw a butterfly on a stone. Was it dead? No. It was sunning itself. It flew away over the wild roses in the hedge. There are many ox-eye daisies in the churchyard, and a lot of wild garlic. The roses have a better smell.

Ma meur a waneth maglednys en Ûcrayn. E vedh othom a ys. Nag ew planjys bodhednow melyn, saw mons ow tevy e'n neb cas.

It was a lovely day for walking in the surrounding countryside. Some flowers are going - the bluebells are dead. New flowers are appearing - here's a first foxglove among the tall bracken above the road. The footpath by the church is overgrown and narrow but the fields are wide open to the sky. The sky is filled with the song of skylarks. This field is planted with cereal, perhaps corn for bread. There's a lot of wheat trapped in Ukraine. There will be a need for corn. Yellow corn marigolds are not planted, but they grow anyway.

Today is a sad day for me. I am sad. It is the anniversary of the death of my mother. I will not write more today.

Every day is special for someone. Today the day is important to the people of Norway. It is their national constitution day. There's a big party, with marching bands and flags. The people like to eat a special breakfast - you can see scrambled eggs, red lobster and fresh-baked bread. There are wine glasses on the table. Perhaps this family will drink wine. We would like to have a national constitution day in Cornwall, but we don't have a constitution. Not yet. But we have a flag and we have our Cornish language.

Imperatives affecting the first person, singular or plural, involve an extra verb (whether we are talking about "being" or "doing") –

gara (+ dhe) SWFM gasa dhe to let, leave or allow

So gas vy (dhe) let me (talking to one familiar person)
or gerowgh (SWFM gesewgh) vy (dhe) let me (plural or formal) 

The latter can be shortened to gero vy (dhe)

We can combine these with bos and gwil.
Using the formal/plural version, we get
1 sg gero vy bos = let me be
1 pl gero nei bos = let us be
1 sg gero vy gwil/ gül= let me do (or let me make)
1 pl gero nei gwil/gül = let us do (or let us make)

Examples:
Gero vy bos cosel. Let me be quiet.
Gero nei bos lowenek. Let us be merry.
Gero vy dhe wil ow sians. Let me do my own thing.
Gero nei dhe wil tesen. Let's make a cake.

Here's a version of an old, over familiar, rhyme (anonymous author) which includes “gero nei … gwil/gül …”
