I walked in the fields yesterday, near St Piran's church, among the growing barley. The stalks are still green, they are not golden. Barley is a hairy cereal. I saw a hairy caterpillar too, on the footpath. There are yellow marigolds among the stalks. There are nests somewhere on the ground - though I couldn't see them. I could hear the sweet songs of the skylarks. They were flying very high. There are brambles by the old stone. There are flowers. There will be blackberries. The footpath by the church is overgrown, but there is not enough sun for blackberries.
