Today is a special day for me. More than half a century ago I was married to my Cornishman. We met one another in a laboratory in a big London hospital. There were not enough jobs in Cornwall in those days. We were very young – and now we are very old! He had black hair and now he is a man with white hair. My hair has changed as well. Our faces are wrinkled and withered and we are heavier (too many pasties and cream!). My mother-in-law was raised in a cottage in Treyew near Penwethers (1327 top of place of streams). The cottage is gone now and New County Hall is in its place. My marriage and New County Hall are the same age!
