Jackdaws like to live near people. There is a pair in our chimney. They like to eat insects and seeds in the garden – and thrown-away cat food! They are too big to come to the hanging tube of bird food. Jackdaws are wild birds. These five young pigeons are not wild birds. They are on a shed roof. The grown-up birds are used for racing. The owner hopes his birds won’t be caught by a sparrow hawk or a buzzard or other hawks. There are ducks in the field with the three rams. They have found a pile of hay by the gate. Will they make a nest or are they looking for food?
