I won't write about bad news today. I would like to bring happy news. The Cornwall Heritage Trust has a new special place. This historic thirteenth century site was acquired from English Heritage. Where is it and what is it? It is a mediaeval holy well and wayside cross. There is a well-house, possibly 15th century, like a porch, with carved pillars, arches and capitals. Probably, the well was used for baptisms. It was said that the water could cure lameness, blindness and insanity. It is all in St Cleer, near Liskeard. Is this man Saint Clarus?
