Here's Bolingey Wood, beside the road, between Bolingey and a little river running towards Perranporth. It's a very old wood, with lots of lichen-covered willow trees, and scrub and brambles. The willow is no longer used to make wicker baskets, but the wood is safe. The ground is boggy, so it is not suitable for building. There's the remains of something else by the road near the wood, i.e. orchards and cider production. There are lots of apples on the road; there is nobody to make the cider. Alas!

Our beach is always lovely, at hightide or low tide or between the two. We had to go to the surgery for our vaccinations before winter. It is autumn, it's not summer, but there are still many people on the beach. They are walking, with or without a dog, and there's a horseman and a horsewoman. There are not a lot of surfers or a lot of swimmers, but there are still beachguards. But there is nobody sitting on wet sand. There's not a deckchair, picnic rug nor towel to be seen. If you'd like to be seated, there is a pub, cafe and restaurant.

Howlleskys o an den, ha kottha ages agan Tas, del vyli dhebm. Onketh o y dhillas.

The man was sunburnt, and older than our Dad, it seemed to me. His clothes were strange.

“Rag fra nag eus lavrek dhodho?” e’medh Jana.

“Why hasn’t he any trousers?” said Jane.

“Na wra che bos mar dhiskortes!” e’medham.

“Don’t be so rude!” I said.

But the man hadn’t understood, it seemed to me, or else he wasn’t listening.

He was still smiling. He looked towards the door of the goat shed while nodding to Dad.

Silver and gold, grey and yellow, are some of the colours in autumn. I love my trees, old and young, in the garden. Perhaps, this apple tree is the same era as the house. There is a lot of grey and blue-green lichen on it. It was here before our arrival. There are already no leaves on its branches. But still there are not many leaves lost from the maple. However, the coloured leaves fallen to the ground are beautiful. There is red and purple, too. The moles will never see the beautiful colours. They are living under the ground, and they are blind, anyway. What are the moles doing under our garden? Will they find gold for us?

Geryow rag hedhyw Words for today

What is Stone Soup?
Who comes to the village?
Are the people friendly in the beginning?
Do the people want to share their food?
What is the first thing put in the pot
What is added to the soup by people of the village?
Does the soup taste good in the end?
Are the villagers happy finally?
Does the old man go away with the stone
