Yesterday, in the afternoon, I saw the sea in the distance. I had not seen that for five weeks. The council cut the verges for road safety. We can see the stones in the old hedge. There is damage to the bush roots.

After the wind I have lots of apples for making something nice to eat. But I need blackberries as well. I only got a few blackberries, but I saw a pretty spider in her web. The blackberries are a beautiful purple colour on the apples.

Yellow weather warning!  There was low air pressure. The wind came. "There are tiles blown down in Truro," said our son. We saw trees swaying in the wind. Will the shed be safe? There are lots of apples on the trees but they are falling. I don't know what variety of apple - perhaps an old Cornish variety. I'd like to make cider! There are green hazel nuts as well as apples in the lane.

Sometimes an old tree can grow too big and then it has to leave a bough. There's an oak tree like that in Truro. A branch fell to the ground between two rows of garages. Fortunately there was no damage or injury at all.

Last week there was long bracken (ferns) by the road. The road was narrow and the cars had to go more slowly. Now someone has cut the bracken and the road is wider. The cars can go faster. We have to take care (though the road is not busy). There are lots of apples fallen on the ground - they are not crushed yet.

In every old house you will find a problem of some sort. Our problem was the electricity  in the kitchen. An electrician came to solve the problem. "That's bad!" he said. "You are lucky the house isn't burnt. He found some burnt electric cables. He must come again to inspect other rooms.
