I can hear birds singing early in the morning. Sometimes it's a noisy robin, but today I saw a blackbird. This one is male, a cock, with black feathers and eyes. The beak is yellow. There are two more cocks, male birds, on the lawn. They are not blackbirds. They are beaky mallard ducks. Why my garden? Perhaps the birds will eat lots of slugs and lots of snails.
