Today, I am remembering my mother. She and her younger sister were born in the middle of the Edwardian Era. Her parents and her older brothers were Victorians. All of those died before my mum, even her sister. In those days, girls were dressed in black boots and white smocks (pinafores) - simpler than the king! My grandmother bought sailor suits for the boys with an inheritance.
