Thera was a strong wind today, strong and cold. It was coming from the North. See the "white horses" on the sea, and messy surf. I had no desire to go to the beach. But there were people in the village. The Co-op car park was full. We walked up Quarry Road and looked across the valley. The quarry is disused, though there is still stone in it. Perhaps there are no more quarrymen. Or perhaps it costs more to get the stone out than it's value. Did it provide the stone for my house? Now it is full of huge black plastic bags of hay or silage for the farm. On the hillside opposite to us we saw new houses. I don't like them. They look like cardboard. I prefer houses made of stone. Here's an animal carrying it's house on it's back!  A snail with a shell is climbing up some hogweed.
