We have a new Prime Minister and he has a big group of ministers to support him. Keir Starmer has appointed his Cabinet. There are several Cabinet Ministers. Who amongst them will be significant for Cornwall and our Cornish language? Angela Rayner is appointed Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities. She will understand our problems with low paid work and lack of affordable housing. But will she understand our culture and language? Will there be enough money for Cornwall in the future? The new Chancellor of the Exchequer is Rachel Reeves. Another Secretary of State is Lisa Nandy. We should look to her for Culture, Media and Sport. There is a lack of media in the Cornish language. The Secretary of State for Education is Bridget Phillipson. We need education in our language. There's a need of Cornish lessons and lessons about Cornish history. We will watch these women! There are perhaps five other Secretaries of State to consider tomorrow.
