I have found an old photo, probably taken more than sixty years ago. Here I am in school with the headmistress and the other prefects. I was young! Where are all the "girls" now? Dead or retired? What happened to them? I know one of them died many years ago at university. One friend, Sue, got married to a doctor in Italy. Bryony was a professor of prehistoric archaeology. Margot was a psychiatrist and writer. Stephanie was a concert pianist. But after school we all parted, to our separate ways. Girls are married and they have different names. They are lost to me!
