I no longer wish to think about infections. I prefer looking at happy pictures. Christmas and the New Year have gone. Gone or lost? They were not my best Christmas or New Year ever, but I hope the future will be better. In the meantime, I like these old Victorian and Swedish images. They show Father Christmas and Sankta Nikolaus. Father Christmas has a crown of holly on his head, a Yule log on his back and a wassail bowl in his hands. He's a bit scary. Sweden is colder, so Sankta Nikolaus doesn't have a holly crown. He has a warm hooded fur coat instead. There's a Christmas tree in his hand and a sack of presents on his back. He is more amiable. And who is the piper among the children?
