Here are two books from my shelf. The surname, "Stevenson", of the authors is the same, but the initials, R.L. and D.E., are different. Is there a link between these two books? Stevenson is a surname from Scotland. The two writers were born in Scotland, into the same family. Men of the family were civil engineers and lighthouse builders. But R.L. was a sickly boy and D.E. was a girl. Robert Louis is familiar to us as the author of "Treasure Island" and other stories of adventure and mystery. Here's a translation in Cornish by Nicholas Williams. But R.L. died young, two years after his cousin Dorothy Emily was born. She had a long life and she wrote more than forty "light romantic novels".
