There's a lot of water today, everywhere – in the sky, in the air and on the ground. The little river is fuller, deeper, than normal. Muddy water is running down the road like a stream, and across the road as far as (into) the little wood. The little wood is like a swamp. The people on the beach are but few. I can hardly see the sea. I can hardly see any beach. There are few gulls by the sea today, but I did see a flock of goldfinches by the rugby field.
