Building up our Cornish language Part 22a
Let's stay with the verb gwil ~ gül. (not gwul)
The verbal adjective is gwres (SWFM gwrys) usually this is used to mean "made".
nowydh-gwres is "newly made" or "freshly made"
One use is with the descriptive of bos, along with a meaning "of" (followed by lots of soft mutations)
Examples:
predn wood
Y scath ev ew gwres a bredn. His boat is made of wood.
gwlân wool
Ow gwlânek ew gwres a wlân gwydn. My jumper is made of white wool.
prei clay
An padik the jug
An padik na that jug
An padik na ew gwres a brei. That jug is made of clay. (pottery).
Da ew genam tesednow nowydh-gwres. I like newly-made cakes.
Lies tra spladn ew gwres en Kernow. Many splendid things are made in Cornwall.

You can put things into several past tenses
Saw nag ew gwres genam tesednow. But I have not made cakes.

We can also put thing in the future.

We have used the preterite a wrüg, meaning "did" with other verbs, making a compound preterite or perfect tense.
e.g. My a wrüg pobas hedhyw mettin. I baked this morning. I've baked this morning.
In Late Cornish the preterite meaning "made" is a wras.
This distinction is not made in Middle Cornish
(and Late Cornish still uses wrüg for interrogative and negative) .
Examples:
Ev a wras y scath a bredn. He made his boat of wood.
My a wras ow gwlânek ow hònan. I made my jumper myself.
Hei a wras lies padik a brei. She made many jugs of clay.
Anjei a wras tesednow hedhyw mettin. They made cakes this morning.
