Answer from Friday: John Opie
Richard Trevithick was a Cornishman like John Opie. He was born in Tregajorran near Redruth in April 1771. He was ten years younger than John Opie. Did they meet one another? I don't know. John Opie was an artist and Richard Trevithick was an engineer. Nowadays they are both famous men but Trevithick was a pauper when he died. He was not buried in a cathedral in London.
Next question: Trevithick drove his steam engine, Puffing Devil, up Redruth Hill. Is that the truth or a lie?
One more question: Brown Willy (Swallows' Hill) is a tall hill near Redruth and Tregajorran. Is that true or false?
