St Piran's Day has gone until next year, but celebrating Cornwall and our Cornish language has not gone. Here's a bit more lesson.

Let's have a look at the question words which are used with the verb bos to be, being.
Sometimes they are used with bos descriptive and
sometimes they are used with bos locative.

The answer will use the same form of the verb as the question. The first group, involving identification, uses the descriptive.

Piw? Who?
Piw os ta? (familiar) Piw ow whei? (formal) Who are you?
Jan o vy. Tho vy Jan. I'm Jan.
Piw ow whei? (plural) Who are you?
Jôwan hag Agnes o nei. Tho nei Jôwan hag Agnes. 
We're John and Agnes.
Piw ew ev? Who is he?
Jôwan ew ev. Thew ev Jôwan. He is John.
Piw ew hei? Who is she?
Agnes ew hei. She's Agnes.
Piw ens? Who are they?
Jôwan hag Agnes ens. Thens Jôwan hag Agnes. 
They're John and Agnes.

This second group, where place is indicated, uses the locative.

Piw eus ena? Who is (there) there?
You can also ask Piw üjy ena? Who is (it) there?
Thera vy òbma, Jôwan. I am here, John. It is I, John, here.
Piw eus òbma? Who is here?
Ma Jôwan òbma. John is here.

Piw ew hedna? Who is that (m)?
Jôwan ew ev. He is John.
Piw ew holma? Piw ew hei? Who is this (f)?
Agnes ew hei. She is Agnes.
Piw ew an re na? Who are those?
Piw ew anjei? Who are they?
Piw en jei? Piw ens? Who are they?
Thens an flehes. They are the children.
An flehes en jei. They are the children.
An re na ew Jôwan hag Agnes. Those are John and Agnes.

Piw ew Jory? Who is George?
My ew Jory. I am George. (used to answer this type of question)
