Here I am again on a cliff, looking downwards. Today I am closer to the sea, but the beach is more distant. The carpark is full and the streets are full of holiday makers. The owners of every shop, café and tea shop are happy. Perhaps they can make a profit at last. The gulls are happy. Perhaps they can find some chips on the ground. Some of the people on the beach are happy because the sea is calm and there is only a gentle wind. It’s not suitable weather for sunbathing, but they can paddle out on their boards or in their little kayaks. They can swim. It’s disappointing for surfers – there is no surf. There are no waves. This is unusual for the north coast. The sea reflects the sky - it's like a silver mirror. We don't swim or paddle but we chatter - we are chatterboxes!
